John Benham writes for SupportMusic.com.


John Benham, a thirty-year music education veteran and leading music advocate, began writing the music education web log--or "blog"--for SupportMusic.com. His weekly "CounterPoint" commentary offers an experienced insider's insights on preserving music education, links to relevant sources and occasional feedback from other music advocates. Recognized as an expert in saving and restoring school music programs, Benham has been credited with staving off more than $62 million in potential budgetary reductions in music throughout the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. Visitors to the site are invited to participate in the questions/feedback area of "CounterPoint," helping to foster a community-based coalition to prevent budgetary cuts to schools.
