Jobs boost as Tsys plugs in; COMMERCIAL PROPERTY.
The company negotiated the purchase of land at Binley by Pettifer Group and then introduced leading call centre operator Tsys.
The pounds 8 million, 31,000 sq ft centre, which is due to open for business in the spring of 2008, will handle all of Nationwide's one million credit card accounts.
Pettifer and local developer Daniel Lynch teamed up on the project, which was one of the fastest property transactions ever recorded in Coventry - designed, approved for planning and legally documented in just over six weeks.
David Holt, of D&P Holt, was quick to highlight the extent of local co-operation.
"This is a perfect example of how the city can attract inward investment. All parties were working with one aim in the mind - to make the development work and to ensure that new jobs were attracted to Coventry," he said.
"Pettifer Construction is set to meet its deadline date for the build and it will be superb to see 300 people working in the building.
"We have been involved in Binley Business Park over many years and it is now a jewel in Coventry's commercial crown."
Tsys is taking a 15-year lease on the two storey air-conditioned building, which comes with state-of-the-art data and telecoms connections, emergency power generation, staff restaurant and welfare facilities, and on-site parking.
The company joins major occupiers such as Coventry Building Society, HSBC Bank and Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and Visteon on the business park - described as a major regeneration success for the City Council.
This 200-year-old barn could become the perfect base for a business wanting to combine tranquility with high-tech comms.
The Granary was converted into office space six years ago and is now being let through commercial property agents D&P Holt.
The detached two-storey barn comes with satellite broadband, 15 car parking spaces, and stunning views across the Warwickshire countryside, according to D&P Holt's Nick Holt.
"This office would appeal to a wide range of companies," he says, pointing to the former grain storage barn in Newnham Grounds, near Bretford.
"It is situated in a stunning location but there is easy access to both Coventry and Rugby, and the Midlands motorway network is only a short drive away."
The 1,782 sq ft building includes a reception lobby area, printing/network room, boardroom, male and female toilets, and a large kitchen area with cooking facilities and a dishwasher. Upstairs there is an open plan office with exposed beams.
D&P Holt is quoting an annual rent of pounds 22,500.
