Joanna Rees Gallanter Named to National Venture Capital Association Board; Gallanter to Serve 4 Year Term.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 13, 2004

Joanna Rees Gallanter, Founder and Managing Partner of Venture Strategy Partners ("VSP VSP - Very Simple Prolog+. "), was elected to the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA NVCA National Venture Capital Association ) board of directors, it was announced today. Ms. Rees Gallanter will serve a 4 year term, and will initially focus on the membership and research committees. Ms. Rees Gallanter joins 7 other new board members who will serve as advisors to the NVCA.

The NVCA was established in 1973 to foster a better understanding of the important impact venture capital has on the U.S. economy and to stimulate the flow of private risk equity capital to developing companies. Today, the NVCA is the venture community's leading source of advocacy, networking, professional development and information. "Joanna Rees Gallanter is a terrific addition to our leadership team," said Mark Heesen, President of the NVCA. Ms. Rees Gallanter founded VSP, a San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  based venture capital firm with more than $200 million under management, in late 1996. Ms. Rees Gallanter brings significant experience in marketing, finance and strategy to her role as board member. She has held several senior marketing management positions with Groupe Danone Groupe Danone (Euronext: BN, NYSE: DA) (known as Dannon in the United States) is a food-product company with its central headquarters in Paris, France. It claims world leadership in dairy products,[1] , a $20+ billion global consumer products firm with her last position as head of New Product Development. In addition, she has held roles in finance and investment banking including positions at BA Securities and a boutique merchant bank, Vrolyk & Co. She began her career at DMB&B, working with clients such as General Foods, Digital Equipment Corp, Texaco and RJR Nabisco RJR Nabisco, Inc., was an American conglomerate formed in 1985 by the merger of Nabisco Brands and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. RJR Nabisco was purchased in 1988 by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. in the second largest leveraged buyout in history, adjusted for inflation. .
