Jim Runsdorf dies in accident.Members of the real estate community are mourning the tragic loss of Jim Runsdorf, the 41-year-old father of two whose life was cut short in a tragic boat accident on the Harlem River last week. Mr Runsdorf, a partner in the New York-based commercial and industrial real estate company, Pantheon Properties and president of the recently created Pantheon Financial, was rowing with three other men on the Harlem River when they were struck by a 29-foot motorboat shortly after 6 a.m. on October 24, 2005. Three men were rescued, but police and hundreds of volunteers took four days to recover Mr Runsdorf's body from the waters. With more than 20 years of experience in the acquisition, development and financing of industrial, residential, retail and office properties, Mr. Runsdorf was well known on Manhattan's real estate scene, having helped launched Pantheon in 1994. At Pantheon, Mr. Runsdof originated joint venture transactions with local owner/operators, sourced mezzanine and bridge financing transactions and structured opportunistic acquisitions, developments, sale-leasebacks and other off balance sheet transactions. Prior to Pantheon, Mr. Runsdorf was with Palisades Palisades, cliffs along the west bank of the Hudson River, NE N.J. and SE N.Y., extending from N of Jersey City, N.J., to the vicinity of Piermont, N.Y., with a general altitude of from 350 ft to 550 ft (107–168 m).
