Jesus goes to court.

PHILADELPHIA -- The mother of a 10-year-old fourth grader has filed suit against his elementary school because he was forbidden to dress up as Jesus for Halloween, according to the Philadelphia-area Times Chronicle. The child's teacher asked him to remove his crown of thorns and not tell the other children he was dressed as Jesus, citing a policy that forbids the promotion of religion at the public school.

"His mother said he was forced to go as a Roman emperor," said Randall Wenger of the Independence Law Center, which represents the child's mother, Donna Brewer. "It seems outrageous that he can't be Jesus but others can be witches and goblins." The school district is disputing Brewer's account of the incident.
