Jersey City, New Jersey, says it will use its power of eminent domain eminent domain, the right of a government to force the owner of private property sell it if it is needed for a public use. The right is based on the doctrine that a sovereign state has dominion over all lands and buildings within its borders, which has its origins in  to seize the Golden Cicada cicada (sĭkā`də), large, noise-producing insect of the order Homoptera, with a stout body, a wide, blunt head, protruding eyes, and two pairs of membranous wings.  Bar. The city wants the land so a private Catholic school can build an athletic field. Just 185 of the 934 students enrolled in St. Peter's Preparatory School Saint Peter's Preparatory School is a private all-male Jesuit college-preparatory school located in Jersey City, New Jersey. Located within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark, the Society of Jesus founded the school in 1872 and remains a contributing part of the  live in Jersey City.
