Jeppesen Delivers Crew Planning Software to Qantas.

GOTEBORG, Sweden -- Jeppesen has successfully completed delivery of the industry-leading Carmen Crew Pairing optimization software to the Australian airline Qantas. At a handover ceremony at the Qantas head office in Sydney, Australia, Qantas officially took over the production of pairings planned with Carmen Crew Pairing. Qantas has already operated pairings produced in an outsourcing agreement by Jeppesen's Service Bureau for over six months for all 8,500 crew members, resulting in substantial savings for the airline.

The Carmen Crew Pairing project at Qantas was initialized in December 2005, and the first production delivery was made after only six weeks. In May 2006, highly productive crew pairings for all Qantas flight crew were produced.

John Willett, chief information officer at Qantas, said, "We are pleased that the pairings project has been delivered on time, within budget and with expected productivity results. Both organizations have developed a good working relationship."
