Jeffrey Rose, MD, is vice president of clinical excellence informatics at Ascension Health based in St. Louis. Ascension Health is the nation's largest Catholic and nonprofit health system. In his new role, Rose will provide senior clinical leadership and strategic support for new clinical systems and quality initiatives of Ascension Health. Through his work with associates, he will serve as the clinical liaison to Ascension Health hospitals and related facilities regarding clinical systems and medical informatics. Rose also will assist with the implementation of clinical systems across Ascension Health while guiding the introduction of knowledge-driven care and redesigned clinical practices to improve the quality and safety of patient care. In addition, he will focus on the efficiency and professional satisfaction of Ascension Health care providers. Prior to joining Ascension Health, Rose was vice president and chief medical officer at Cerner Corporation, where he focused on the challenges and benefits of information-based global health care transformation. Before joining Cerner Corporation, he was the chief medical officer of Health Language Inc., and prior to that he was the physician leader of the development and deployment of the 1999 Davies Award-winning Colorado Kaiser Permanente Clinical Information System. Rose also is an instructor of informatics for ACPE.
