Japanese diver missing in Palau.

TOKYO, May 11 Kyodo

A Japanese man went missing Monday morning while diving south of Peleliu Island in Palau, the Japan Coast Guard said Thursday.

The Coast Guard identified the man as Naohisa Yoda, 51, of Tokyo's Tama city.

Local police and the U.S. Coast Guard are searching for Yoda and the Japan Coast Guard said it has sent a small plane to join the search.

In February 1994, five Japanese divers went missing off Peleliu Island. Two bodies were recovered but the remaining three are still missing.
