Jannifer Harper, MD, is vice president and associate chief medical officer for University Hospitals of Cleveland University Hospitals is a major not-for-profit medical center in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. . She is also involved in a broad range of quality-related activities managed by the office of patient care, nursing and medical outcomes. Prior to joining University Hospitals of Cleveland, Harper served as medical director for The Medical Group of Ohio and OhioHealth Group. In this position, she had oversight of quality improvement, clinical integration, and physician performance management and managed care relationships for the Columbus-based medical group. Harper has nearly 20 years of leadership experience in medicine. She began her career in 1984 as a general internist internist /in·tern·ist/ (in-ter´nist) a specialist in internal medicine.

After serving for two years in this capacity, she accepted an appointment to vice president and medical director for CIGNA CIGNA CG (Connecticut General Life Insurance Company) INA (Insurance Company of North America)  Healthcare for the north central region. In 1998, she was promoted to vice president and medical director with responsibility region and later assumed the role of vice president and regional medical director for CIGNA's midwest region in 1999. Harper holds an MD from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine training at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
