There he was responsible for a multi-billion dollar worldwide business that develops, manufactures and markets air bags, seat belts, and fastening systems. Prior to joining TRW in 1990, Janitz served as President of Wickes Manufacturing Company, a $1.2 billion automotive supplier, based in Southfield, MI. Prior to joining Wickes Manufacturing Company in 1987, Janitz held various senior management positions in industrial and automotive businesses at Gulf & Western, Inc. and at the Ford Motor Company. "John brings a wealth of both domestic and international industrial and automotive experience to Textron Automotive Company," said Textron President and Chief Operating Officer Lewis B. Campbell. "His leadership and vision will continue to drive Textron Automotive Company as a leading supplier of automotive components worldwide," he added. Janitz succeeds Derek Plummer, who will continue as a Vice President and Officer of Textron Inc., reporting to Campbell. He will aid in the transition of Janitz and will assist Textron in international acquisition efforts. Plummer joined Textron as a Group Vice President in 1986. Prior to that time, he was a Group Vice President of Ex-Cell-O Corporation where he began his career in 1955. Textron acquired Ex-Cell-O Corporation in 1986.
