James Ruddell, a senior engineering manager at Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB), has been named Person of the Year by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).

James Ruddell, a senior engineering manager at Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB), has been named Person of the Year by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).

CMAA is a professional organization dedicated to promoting professionalism and excellence in the management of the construction process.

The CMAA Person of the Year Award recognizes an industry leader who has made significant contributions on behalf of the construction management industry, an industry advocate with unparalleled leadership skills, high-quality workmanship, and an outstanding track record in delivering successful programs.

Ruddell was cited for his outstanding leadership as PB's construction manager for the $2.4 billion Woodrow Wilson Bridge replacement project on Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway. He manages the joint venture and subconsultant construction management team that oversees the work of 32 prime contractors on the project.

Ruddell has 30 years of experience in program management, construction management and construction contracting for large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects. He has managed construction of bridges and highways, natural gas plants, petrochemical and power plants throughout the U.S. and in the Middle East.

A graduate of Stanford University with a B.S. degree in civil engineering, Mr. Ruddell is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance, and CMAA.
