James D. Barras.

James D. Barras (photo), of Long Valley, New Jersey, a former corporate real estate executive of such prominent corporations as AT&T and Chase Manhattan Bank, has been appointed vice president of Corporate Services for McBride Realty Services, announced David McBride, CEO, and Geoffrey Schubert, president. The company is a joint venture of McBride Enterprises in Franklin Lakes, and Bridgewood Properties in Paramus, New Jersey. It handles marketing and management, as well as tenant construction and property management requirements, for office properties owned by corporations and financial institutions.

As vice president of Corporate Services, Barras is responsible for marketing the company's services, which are instrumental to large corporations and institutions in managing the current real estate environment. He joins McBride with a 32-year corporate history.

During a 29-year career with AT&T, Barras held positions in the company's real estate, construction and property management departments. His responsibilities ranged from managing a portfolio of 1.3 million square feet of commercial space to directing the cost-management activities of a $106 million, 900,000 square-foot Headquarters Building construction project.

Most recently, Barras served as vice president of International Real Estate Management for Chase Manhattan' Bank. There he managed the bank's real estate portfolio of owned and leased space for its operations in Asia and the Caribbean.
