Jacobs awarded environmental contract from Bechtel Hanford Inc.

RICHLAND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 1995--Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it has been selected by Bechtel Hanford, Inc. (BHI) for a subcontract award at DOE's Hanford site near Richland, WA. This is Jacobs' first contract with BHI.

This is a multiple award task order contract with a ceiling of $20 million over 5 years. Jacobs will compete with other awardees for individual task orders. In particular, Jacobs will provide BHI with engineering support services for remedial design, systems engineering, and decontamination and decommissioning.

Work under this subcontract will be managed from the Jacobs' Tri-Cities (Kennewick, WA) office.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President, Arlan Emmert, stated, "This is our first opportunity to provide environmental restoration services at Hanford. We are very pleased with the opportunity to actively participate with Bechtel in the Hanford environmental restoration program."

Jacobs' Kennewick, WA office is currently preparing a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement for the DOE - Richland Operations Office for support services for the Hanford Tank Waste Remediation System.
