:JEC) announced today that their subsidiary Sverdrup Technology, Inc. received a potential $120 million contract to provide acquisition, logistics, management, and business operations technical support to the United States Special Operations Command The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM or USSOC) is the Unified Combatant Command charged with overseeing the various Special Operations Commands (SOC or SOCOM) of each branch of the U.S. military. The command is part of the U.S.  (USSOCOM USSOCOM United States Special Operations Command ) headquarters staff, components, and theater SOCs as part of the Acquisition, Logistics, Management, and Business Operations Support (ALMBOS) contract.

The five-year contract has an effective date of May 1, 2002.

Sverdrup serves as the prime contractor for the effort and draws support from nine large business subcontractors (ACS (Asynchronous Communications Server) See network access server. , Anteon, BAE SYSTEMS, Battelle, Boeing, BTG, Camber, Logicon, and MCR) and four small business subcontractors (AST (AST Computer, Irvine, CA) A PC manufacturer founded in 1980 by Albert Wong, Safi Quershey and Tom Yuen (A, S and T). It offered a complete line of PCs that sold through its dealer channel. , Comer, Cortez, and OCI).

ALMBOS is the follow-on contract to the USSOCOM's System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) II contract. Sverdrup is one of three prime contractors on the SETA II contract awarded in 1997, and they currently have more than 230 employees supporting USSOCOM.

In making this announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Rogers Starr stated, "USSOCOM has unique responsibilities for organizing, training, and equipping special operations forces Those Active and Reserve Component forces of the Military Services designated by the Secretary of Defense and specifically organized, trained, and equipped to conduct and support special operations. Also called SOF.  to accomplish their critical worldwide mission in peace and war. We are proud to continue our support to this important client by providing a wide range of acquisition, business, and technical services through this contract."
