Jacobs Receives Design Contract for Upgrade of N6 in Central Ireland.PASADENA, Calif. -- Jacobs Engineering Group Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :JEC) announced today that a subsidiary company has received a contract from Ireland's National Roads Authority The National Roads Authority (NRA) (Irish: An tÚdarás urn Bóithre Náisiúnta) is a state body in the Republic of Ireland, responsible for the national road network. The NRA was established as part of the Roads Act 1993, and commenced operations on 1 January 1994. to provide design services on the project to upgrade the N6 between Kinnegad and Kilbeggan in central Ireland. Officials estimate the value of the project at $137 million. Jacobs is providing detailed design services and site supervision input in support of the project's civil engineering contractor, Ascon Ltd. The project involves the construction of 28 kilometers of dual carriageway dual carriageway Noun Brit, Austral & NZ a road with a central strip of grass or concrete to separate traffic travelling in opposite directions Noun 1. , 18 bridges, associated side roads, and three grade-separated junctions. Jacobs' design team of approximately 50 people is executing the work in Glasgow, with additional support from other Jacobs offices in the U.K. and Ireland.
