Jacobs Receives Contract Ceiling Increase from United States Special Operations Command.TULLAHOMA, Tenn. -- Jacobs Engineering Group Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :JEC) announced today that a subsidiary company received a $180 million ceiling increase to its Acquisition, Logistics, Management, and Business Operations Support (ALMBOS ALMBOS Acquisition, Logistics, Management, and Business Operations Support ) contract with the United States Special Operations Command The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM or USSOC) is the Unified Combatant Command charged with overseeing the various Special Operations Commands (SOC or SOCOM) of each branch of the U.S. military. The command is part of the U.S. (USSOCOM USSOCOM United States Special Operations Command ). Under the ALMBOS contract, Jacobs provides these services to USSOCOM headquarters staff, its Service components, and the Theater Special Operations Commands. Originally worth up to $120 million, this contract is now worth up to $300 million. There are currently more than 270 Jacobs employees supporting USSOCOM worldwide under the contract, which went into effect May 1, 2002. ALMBOS is the follow-on contract to the System Engineering and Technical Assistance II contract USSOCOM awarded to Jacobs in 1997. The increase in the contract ceiling coincides with the award of an additional year to the original five-year contract term. This is the first of three one-year incentive award terms, bringing the contract to six years with the possibility of extending to eight years. Jacobs serves as the prime contractor for the effort and draws support from nine large business subcontractors and four small business subcontractors.
