Jackson, Stepp on Wooden list.

Byline: The Register-Guard

Oregon senior Luke Jackson and South Eugene graduate Blake Stepp, teammates on the United States team in the Pan American games, are listed among the 50 preseason candidates for the Wooden Award, given annually to college basketball's top player.

Cory Violette, one of Stepp's teammates at Gonzaga, was also on the initial list. Two Arizona players, Channing Frye and Salim Stoudamire, were among six other Pac-10 players listed, joining Josh Childress of Stanford, Ike Diogu of Arizona State, Marcus Moore of Washington State and Amit Tamir of California.
