Jackie's career sewn up.
Jackie, 41, is now running her own company ( Stitch in Time ( from her home in Nelson Avenue, Cramlington after being given a helping hand by Blyth Valley Council's Action Team for Jobs.
Since starting up in February, she has grown her client list for alterations and handmade creations. Jackie decided to use her sewing skills to go self-employed when she was made redundant after working in Northumberland clothing factories. She had found it difficult to get a new job after her daughter Rebecca was born prematurely eight years ago and she had to attend regular hospital appointments.
Action Team for Jobs paid for a sewing machine and four weeks worth of press advertising to promote Stitch in Time to help her launch the business.
