``This is justice,'' her mother, Magaly Spector, said by phone from work in New Jersey.

David Rademaker, 41, of Burbank showed no reaction as the verdicts were read finding him guilty of capital murder with the special circumstance of kidnapping kidnapping, in law, the taking away of a person by force, threat, or deceit, with intent to cause him to be detained against his will. Prosecutors are pursuing the death penalty, and the jury of eight men and four women, which deliberated a little more than three days, will hear the penalty phase of Rademaker's trial beginning Friday, then decide whether he deserves to die for what he did.

During Rademaker's three-week trial, prosecutors argued that he was the man who had posed as ``Paul,'' a freelance photographer, and lured Pandelios to her death.

The burned-out remains of her car were found Feb. 28, 1992, the day after she disappeared, near the Monte Cristo Monte Cristo (mŏn'tē krĭs`tō, Ital. môn`tā krē`stō), unpopulated, rocky island, 6 sq mi (15.5 sq km), belonging to Italy, in the Tyrrhenian Sea between Corsica and the Italian coast.  Campground in the Angeles National Forest The Angeles National Forest (ANF) was established by executive order on December 20, 1892 as the San Gabriel Timberland Reserve. It covers over 2,600 km² (650,000 acres) and is located in the San Gabriel Mountains of Los Angeles County, just north of the metropolitan area of Los . Her body was discovered nearby about 13 months later.

Rademaker admitted in a taped conversation with an ex-girlfriend that he had set fire to the victim's car but denied killing her.

Overall, the prosecution's evidence was weak, Rademaker's defense attorneys said after the verdict.

``It's all speculation and conjecture CONJECTURE. Conjectures are ideas or notions founded on probabilities without any demonstration of their truth. Mascardus has defined conjecture: "rationable vestigium latentis veritatis, unde nascitur opinio sapientis;" or a slight degree of credence arising from evidence too weak or too ,'' said Chad Calabria, one of the attorneys.

Prosecutor John Monaghan declined to comment.

The main witness against Rademaker was Manya Ksendov, with whom Rademaker began a sexual relationship when she was 14 and he was 29.

He was sentenced in 1998 to 12 years in prison after pleading Asking a court to grant relief. The formal presentation of claims and defenses by parties to a lawsuit. ``Their sole case is an ex-girlfriend who has tremendous animosity toward Mr. Rademaker,'' Calabria said.

Ksendov testified earlier that Rademaker had said he attacked Pandelios after the model refused to have sex with him. She pleaded for her life, Ksendov said, and promised not to tell a soul if he let her go home to her son, Nicholas.

The defense relied on the testimony of Bradley Leon of Nevada, who said he saw a woman who fit Pandelios' description at the Monte Cristo Campground three days after she was reported missing. Calabria said there was another witness who saw her after Feb. 27, but that that man died before the trial.
