But ultimately, Farley said, prosecutors have proven only two things: that Dally's lover, Diana Haun, killed Sherri Dally and that Michael Dally is not a very good man. ``But you need more than that to convict To adjudge an accused person guilty of a crime at the conclusion of a criminal prosecution, or after the entry of a plea of guilty or a plea of nolo contendere. An individual who has been found guilty of a crime and, as a result, is serving a sentence as punishment for the act; that man of anything - anything at all,'' Farley said. Dally, 37, is accused of murder for financial gain, kidnapping kidnapping, in law, the taking away of a person by force, threat, or deceit, with intent to cause him to be detained against his will. Kidnapping may be done for ransom or for political or other purposes. and conspiracy in the May 1996 murder of his wife, Sherri. Haun was convicted of those charges and is now serving a life sentence. And although Dally maintained a close relationship with Haun even after she was arrested for Sherri Dally's murder, Farley said his client was duped - just as Haun's other lovers were duped by her beguiling ways. ``Where is the evidence in this case . . . that in any way connects Michael Dally and Diana Haun in a conspiracy in this case?''
