JUDGE SENTENCES SIMI MOLESTER TO 7 YEARS.

A Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  man who videotaped himself while molesting an 8-year-old victim was sentenced to seven years in prison Monday.

Robert Wayne Nelson Wayne Nelson (born June 1, 1950 in Kansas City, MO) is an American musician best known for being a member of the famed Australian rock band, Little River Band.

Shortly after his birth in Kansas City, Nelson's family moved to Rome, Illinois, a suburb of Peoria, Illinois.

``He videotaped the molestation and (on another occasion) admitted to videotaping the 8-year-old victim and some of her friends in various stages of undress, using a hidden camera,'' said Deputy District Attorney Margaret Coyle.

 declined to view the videotape. At the request of Nelson's attorney, Deputy Public Defender public defender, governmental official who represents indigent persons accused of crime. Nelson was arrested June 11 after Simi Valley police, who were investigating the molestation case, sought to apprehend him while he met with a friend in a parking lot at Madera Road and Los Angeles Avenue.

Nelson fled in a rented car and led police on a chase through residential streets before he crashed into a tree on Golden Fern Court. As part of his sentence, Nelson was ordered to make restitution to the rental company.
