JUBILEES.Byline: - Mary Vose Francis (Smitty) and Candy Smith of Arleta celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently with a party at their home for 125 family members and friends. The couple are from Canton, Ohio Canton is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Stark CountyGR6. The municipality is located in northeastern Ohio and is situated on the Nimishillen Creek, approximately 24 miles (38 km) south of Akron[4] , where they both attended Canton Central Catholic High, Smitty in the boys' school and Candy in the girls' school Girls' School was a single by Paul McCartney and his former band Wings. Written and produced by Paul McCartney it was the other side of the double A-side with Mull Of Kintyre,and was the band's sole UK number one, spending nine weeks at the top in December 1977 and January six miles away. The Smiths, who knew no one in California, moved to North Hollywood in 1953 with their three children and little more than the clothes on their backs. They settled in Arleta in 1956, where they still live. Smitty worked as a Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. County fire captain for 30 years. During 25 of those years he also worked as an extra, actor and stuntman stunt·man n. The couple are parents of three sons and a daughter - Scott Smith of Arleta; Steve Smith of Encinitas and Seattle, Wash.; Tom Smith of Alto Loma; and Sherry St. Cyr of Santa Fe, N.M. The couple have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Nowadays Candy enjoys shopping and Smitty spends his time on the golf course.
