JUBILEES THE CHAPEL OF LOVE ...

Chuck and Gen Ondrejcka of Glendale celebrated their golden anniversary with a family dinner on Dec. 17, 1999, 50 years to the day of their 1949 wedding at the Nativity Catholic Church in Los Angeles. The Ondrejckas further celebrated the big event with a trip to Chicago, where they lived when they were first married. The trip was their first visit back.

Chuck and Gen met in a church youth group. In the youth group were three other couples who also married within the year. The four couples formed the Anniversary Club and for the past 49 years have celebrated their respective anniversaries together. This year, however, they decided to celebrate separately in order to share their 50th anniversaries with families and friends.

The Ondrejckas are the parents of three - Claudia Wade and JoAnn Di Conti of Glendale and Tom Ondrejcka of La Canada - and have six grandchildren.

Chuck worked as a dispatcher for a Kern Valley trucking firm and is now retired.

The Ondrejckas enjoy fishing, gardening, sightseeing and their grandchildren.
