JUBILEES : TWO SISTERS' DOUBLE ANNIVERSARY FETE.The 50th wedding anniversaries of Evalyn and Loren Beery of Van Nuys and Evalyn's sister, Dorothy and the Rev. Clarence Ecker of Barron, Wis., were jointly celebrated with a buffet luncheon reception at the Knights of Columbus Knights of Columbus, American Roman Catholic society for men, founded (1882) at New Haven, Conn. (where its headquarters are still located), by Father Michael J. McGivney. Hall in Van Nuys. The festivities, attended by 100 family members and friends, included a renewal of vows officiated by Evalyn and Dorothy's brother, the Rev. Bill Schultz of Covina. The sisters were born in Nebraska and married a day apart; Evelyn in Norton, Kan., and Dorothy in Los Angeles. Evalyn was an elementary school teacher in Elwood and Farnam, Neb. She and husband Loren moved to Van Nuys in 1955, where she worked for the Bank of America

The Beerys are active in the Van Nuys Community Bible Church Community Bible Church is a church in North Central San Antonio. It is an inter-donminational-bible church with almost 10,000 people attending at three weekend services (plus a Sunday Evening service for college-age students). CBC's Senior Pastor is Robert Emmitt. , where Loren is an elder and Evalyn is a deaconess. The Eckers moved to Barron from Los Angeles in 1959 and retired in 1985 after serving 26 years as missionaries with the American Missionary Fellowship American Missionary Fellowship (AMF) has its roots in the First Day Society (founded 1790).
