Ellsworth and Katherine Froggatt of Newhall celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with an inland passage Inland Passage

Ellsworth and Katherine both moved to Southern California when they were 8. He came in 1913 from Iowa; she in 1918 from Alberta, Canada.

It was Katherine's pretty red dress that caught Ellsworth's eye from across the balcony at the First Methodist Church of Pasadena. They were married there on Aug. 2, 1929, after a seven-month courtship.

Ellsworth graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles UCLA comprises the College of Letters and Science (the primary undergraduate college), seven professional schools, and five professional Health Science schools. He taught at Hollenbeck Junior High School, Jordan and Gardena high schools and spent the last 25 years of his teaching career at Washington High School Washington High School may refer to:

. He retired after 40 years and is very proud of having never missed a single day's work.

Katherine is a graduate of the Ernest Holmes' Science of Mind Institute in Los Angeles and has been a teacher of metaphysics at the Science of Mind Church in Newhall, where the couple moved to 25 years ago.

The Froggatts, who have three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, enjoy ballroom dancing and belonging to an 8mm amateur movie club.
