JUBILEES : GOLDEN MARRIAGE IS THE SPICE OF LIFE.Leonard and Zelda Mansky celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary along with 50 family members and friends at the Odyssey restaurant in Granada Hills. The party was hosted by the couple's son, Allen, and daughter-in-law Betty Mansky of Northridge, and daughter Lauren and son-in-law John Dolen of Trabuco Canyon. Their other daughter, Karen Mansky, was unable to attend. Also attending the celebration were the couple's five grandchildren - Russell, Richard and Jeffrey Dolen; and Erika and Neil Mansky. Zelda is a homemaker who, during their marriage, was employed by the Office of Price Administration Office of Price Administration (OPA), U.S. federal agency in World War II, established to prevent wartime inflation. The OPA issued (Apr., 1942) a general maximum-price regulation that made prices charged in Mar., 1942, the ceiling prices for most commodities. Ceilings were also imposed on residential rents. These regulations were gradually modified and extended by OPA administrators—notably Leon Henderson (1941–42), Prentiss H. - during and after World War II - as well as by Southern Counties Gas Co. and Time Service Co. She is an avid reader and card (pan) player. Leonard worked as a health inspector, first with the city of Los Angeles' health department, then with the county's health department, for a total of more than 31 years. He received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from California State University, Northridge, grows herbs for a hobby, is a member of the San Fernando Valley Herb Society and enjoys cooking with herbs and creating new dishes.
