JUBILEES : FIFTH TIME THE CHARM FOR VALLEY COUPLE.


Ruth and Ben Pelter of Sherman Oaks celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Cafe Bellissimo in Woodland Hills.

The celebration was hosted by their children - son Bill and daughter-in-law Maureen Pelter; son Mark Pelter and his fiancee, Bronwyn Falcona; daughter Madeline and son-in-law La Mont Simonaro - and grandsons Justin West and James Simonaro.

Ninety-five family members and friends attended and witnessed the couple's renewal of their wedding vows, officiated by their son, Mark. This was the couple's fifth marriage ceremony: for the first, they eloped; the second was a religious ceremony; the third was during a Marriage Encounter retreat; the fourth was at their 35th anniversary; and now for their 50th.

Ruth is originally from Detroit and moved with her family to Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  in 1936. Ben is a native Angeleno. While both graduated from Dorsey High School, they did not meet until after World War II, when they were introduced by two friends at a Halloween party. They were married 2-1/2 months later.

Ben was an infantry infantry, body of soldiers who fight in an army on foot and are equipped with hand-carried weapons, in contradistinction originally to cavalry and other branches of an army.  officer serving in Europe during World War II and the Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation. . He was active in the printing and publishing business for more than 50 years, and upon retiring joined the Service Corps of Retired Executives, serving as a volunteer counselor and lecturer helping businesses.

Ruth, who served in the PTA PTA or parent-teacher association: see parent education. , Scouts, as past president of the Beverly Hills Beverly Hills, city (1990 pop. 31,971), Los Angeles co., S Calif., completely surrounded by the city of Los Angeles; inc. 1914. The largely residential city is home to many motion-picture and television personalities.  Women's Golf Club and on the board of the Stephen S Stephen, 1097?–1154, king of England (1135–54). The son of Stephen, count of Blois and Chartres, and Adela, daughter of William I of England, he was brought up by his uncle, Henry I of England, who presented him with estates in England and France and . Wise Temple Wise Women, is active in real estate.

The Pelters continued their golden anniversary celebration with a three-day cruise to Ensenada.
