JUBILEES : CALKINS.The 50th wedding anniversary of Helen and William Calkins of Tarzana was celebrated with a luncheon party for 100 family members and friends at the Porter Valley Country Club in Northridge. The couple met in 1945 at a dance in Fort Knox Fort Knox [for Henry Knox], U.S. military reservation, 110,000 acres (44,515 hectares), Hardin and Meade counties, N Ky.; est. 1917 as a training camp in World War I. It became a permanent post in 1932. In the steel and concrete vaults of the U.S. , Ky., where Bill was a member of the U.S. Army Band. Bill is a professional musician and teacher. Students may pursue a Bachelor of Music in Education (B.M.Ed.), Master of Music in Education (M.M.Ed. and graduated from Northwestern University in 1948. A player of woodwind instruments for the movie and television studios and a part-time faculty member at California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni. It's also home to a summer musical theater/theater program known as TADW (TeenAge Drama Workshop) that leads teenagers through an , for the past 30 years, he has toured Japan a dozen times while playing with the Billy Vaughn Orchestra there. For the past 10 years, Helen has worked part-time at Rocketdyne in Canoga Park and does volunteer work in the community.
