JUBILEES : BURBANK COUPLE HAS GOLDEN GLOW.Byline: - Mary Vose Long-time Burbank residents Betty and Bill Walker celebrated their golden anniversary with family and friends at a surprise brunch at the Smoke House restaurant in Burbank. The celebration continued with a trip to Hawaii. Bill served in the U.S. Army during World War II. The two met while working at a Glendale manufacturing company and were married on Dec. 19, 1947. In 1950, they purchased the home in which they still live. Both Walkers are retired from the aerospace industry. Bill is past master of Glendale's Masonic Lodge 368 and past patron of the Burbank Chapter 352 Order of the Eastern Star The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world that both men and women can join. It was established in 1850 by Rob Morris, a lawyer and educator from Boston, Massachusetts who had been an official with the Freemasons. . Betty is past matron of the Burbank Chapter 352 Order of the Eastern Star. They continue as active members of these organizations.
