JUBILEES : A GOLDEN, ENTERTAINING COUPLE.

Don and Marilyn Davies of Simi Valley celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the Villa Piacere restaurant in Woodland Hills on Feb. 13. The event, hosted by their children, was attended by 100 family members and friends.

Don first saw Marilyn in the hallway of North Hollywood High School North Hollywood High School, originally called Lankershim High School when it opened in 1927, is a secondary school in North Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. The school mascot is the husky, and the school colors are blue, white, grey.  during class changes and winked at her. While still in high school, Marilyn was signed to a one-year contract with Warner Bros BROS Brothers

The two were married on Feb. 19, 1949, in St. Charles Catholic Church in North Hollywood.

Don joined the Air Force in 1951 and was a member of the USAF Band. Soon after his service discharge two years later, he joined Georgia Pacific Corp., where he worked until his retirement as district sales manager in 1994.

Don and Marilyn, who had five children in three years, are the parents of Debra Harris of Newbury Park; Kevin Davies of Calabasas; Denise Heiden of Carlsbad (twin brother Daryl was killed in an auto accident in Baja California in 1973) and Gary Davies of West Hills.

The couple has 11 grandchildren.
