Nita and Iggy Stabile stabile (stā`bēl), an abstract construction that is completely stationary. The form was pioneered by Alexander Calder, and examples were termed stabiles to distinguish them from mobiles, their moving counterparts, also invented by Calder.  of Sunland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with the renewal of their wedding vows, performed by Father Vaughn Winter, at St. Charles Church Charles Church may refer to:

  • Charles Edward Church, a late-19th-century Canadian politician
 in North Hollywood. The ceremony was followed by a party at the Odyssey Restaurant in Granada Hills, where the Ray Anthony Orchestra with vocalist Marilyn Vergari performed. Attending the celebration - put on by their children and their families - were 225 family members and friends, including all the members of the couple's June 5, 1948, wedding party in Columbus, Ohio Columbus is the capital and the largest city of the American state of Ohio. Named for explorer Christopher Columbus, the city was founded in 1812 at the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy rivers, and assumed the functions of state capital in 1816. .

Nita and Iggy began dating in their junior year while attending Holy Family High School in Columbus.

Iggy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Afterward, he was employed by Ohio State University Ohio State University, main campus at Columbus; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1870, opened 1873 as Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College, renamed 1878. There are also campuses at Lima, Mansfield, Marion, and Newark.  overseeing campus operations. For many years, he also led a successful Columbus band that played for dances, weddings and bar mitzvahs.

Nita was employed for many years by the Huntington National Bank in Columbus.

The couple moved from Columbus to Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  in the mid-1970s.

The Stabiles are the parents of four - sons Steve and Mark of Columbus, daughter Christy Baptist of Sunland and son Rick of Corona - and have six grandchildren.
