She was married to character actor Byron Foulger from 1921-1970. Richard George Adams (born May 9, 1920) is an English novelist who is best known as the writer of three novels featuring animal characters, in particular Watership Down of Canyon Country. Dorothy, the youngest of nine children, was born in Donora, Pa., and moved with her mother to Beverly Hills Beverly Hills, city (1990 pop. 31,971), Los Angeles co., S Calif., completely surrounded by the city of Los Angeles; inc. 1914. The largely residential city is home to many motion-picture and television personalities. in 1929, where they stayed with Dorothy's eldest sister. Bill is from Kansas City, Mo., and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was wounded on Guam and shipped back to the States, where he spent a year in the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego. Following his discharge from the Marines, he worked as a sales clerk at Pacific Airmotive Corp. in Glendale. It was there that he met Dorothy, who was secretary to the credit manager. The Adamses were married in Glendale and lived in Los Angeles from 1947 to 1952, at which time they bought their first home in Burbank. They have been residents of Burbank ever since. After working at Pacific Airmotive Corp. for a few years, Bill with a couple of partners started C.A.R. (California Affiliated Representatives), an automotive manufacturing representative business, from which he retired as president in 1987.
