 JSC, ASTRONAUTS HONOR PARAMAX MANAGERS
MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The Johnson Space Center

(JSC) and the astronaut corps have honored two Paramax Systems Corporation managers for outstanding contributions to quality improvement and spaceflight success. Paramax, formerly Unisys Defense Systems, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS).
The award, which recognizes outstanding contributions by professionals employed by JSC and its contractors, is given to only two honorees annually. Tony Lyssy, software engineering manager at Paramax's Space Systems operation in Houston, received the NASA Quality Partnership Award for his leadership of Space Systems' Quality Improvement Team. During his chairmanship, the group's accomplishments helped Paramax win the JSC Team Excellence Award and become a finalist for the NASA Excellence Award, the space organization's highest honor to contractors, in 1990 and again in 1991. In addition to chairing Space Systems' quality program, Lyssy also headed his department's 70-member Excellence Team "T," which nominated him for the JSC honor.
Steven J. Green, deputy director of the Systems and Services department at Paramax Space Systems, received a Silver Snoopy Award for leading a multi-company project to develop a security requirements manual for Space Station Control Center automated information systems. Green enlisted scores of volunteers from JSC contractors who worked several months to write the voluminous document, which he also edited.
The Silver Snoopy Award, named after the cartoon character, is the astronaut corps' personal commendation for exceptional contributions to flight safety and mission success. The honor is given to the top one percent of NASA and contractor employees.
The Space Systems operation of Paramax Systems Corporation supplies software products, services and support for space shuttle and space station operations, Space Station Control Center development, Mission Control Center upgrades, and software product and quality assurance at the Johnson Space Center.
