LINCOLN, Neb. -- USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  cornerback Vincent Joseph suffered a bruised larynx larynx (lâr`ĭngks), organ of voice in mammals. Commonly known as the voice box, the larynx is a tubular chamber about 2 in. (5 cm) high, consisting of walls of cartilage bound by ligaments and membranes, and moved by muscles.  after being hit on a fumbled kickoff in the first half.

Joseph lay nearly motionless on the field for several minutes and was taken away on a stretcher.

He was at a local hospital and reported to be in pain but OK. His high school teammate at Long Beach Poly, fullback Alfred Rowe, suffered a concussion in the second quarter and left the game.

Short of the mark: It looked like USC would easily produce two 100-yard rushers Saturday, but starter C.J. Gable, who gained 69 yards in the first half, did not play in the third quarter and did not get a carry midway through the fourth.

The last time USC had two 100-yard rushers was in 2005 against UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles

, when Reggie Bush Reginald "Reggie" Bush, birth name: Reginald Alfred Bush II (born March 2, 1985 in San Diego, California), nicknamed 'The Human Highlight Reel' and 'The President', alluding to President Bush, is an American football player who plays for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL.  gained 260 yards and LenDale White LenDale Anthony White (born December 20, 1984) is an American football running back who plays for the Tennessee Titans. He played for Norm Chow at USC, who is now the Titans' offensive coordinator. His head coach in Tennessee, Jeff Fisher, also played for the USC Trojans.  154.

The last time the Trojans did it on the road was also in 2005, when White gained 197 yards and Bush 158 against Arizona State. Ironically, the quarterback in that game was Sam Keller.

The last time someone other than Bush/White rushed for more than 100 yards was in 1991, when Deon Strother gained 122 and Mazio Royster 114 against Washington State.

penalty: Linebacker Rey Maualuga Rey Maualuga (born January 20, 1987 in Oklahoma) is an american football middle linebacker for the University of Southern California Trojans football team. Early life  helped set up Nebraska's touchdown with a rarely called "disconcerting" penalty.

Here's the rule: "No player shall use words or signals that disconcert opponents when they are preparing to put the ball in play. No player may call defensive signals that simulate the sound or cadence of (or otherwise interfere with) offensive starting signals. An official shall sound his whistle immediately."

Maualuga also committed a false start on the punt team.

Jump on the bandwagon: Actor Keanu Reeves made a rare appearance along with USC graduate Will Ferrell John William "Will" Ferrell (born July 16, 1967[1]) is an Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated American comedian, impressionist, writer and actor who first established himself as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, .

Fumble! Special teams were an adventure for the Trojans. Joseph fumbled a kickoff and bobbled another while Desmond Reed fumbled a punt return. Fortunately for the Trojans, they recovered both fumbles.

Former Taft High of Woodland Hills star Malcolm Smith, the younger brother of former USC wide receiver Steve Smith, grabbed Joseph's fumble and returned it 31 yards for USC. It was a critical recovery following Nebraska's only touchdown of the game.

Thanks for coming, Iowa: Nike supplied USC with game warm-ups this week that are black and gold and bear no resemblance to the school colors. USC coach Pete Carroll and players complained about the new sweats, which make USC look like Iowa or the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Big loss: USC scored the most points against Nebraska in Memorial Stadium since 1988, when Oklahoma State scored 42.

USC also scored the most points since Nebraska allowed 61 to Minnesota in 1945.
