 REORGANIZATION OF ITS TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS
 NEW YORK, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Joseph E.Seagram & Sons, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the Seagram Company Ltd., today announced a reorganization of its technology and research management that will significantly enhance the company's focus in these key functions. The changes were announced by William G. Pietersen, president of the Seagram Beverage Group.
 Chip Bettle, senior vice president, technology, for Tropicana Products, Inc. will head a new venture group to develop and commercialize technology for a new generation of juice products. Bettle will continue to report directly to Pietersen and will continue to serve on Tropicana's executive committee.
 In order to enable coordination of the respective technical strengths of Seagram and Tropicana, Dr. Bill Riha, vice president, research and development for Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, Inc., will now have the additional responsibility for Tropicana's research efforts in Bradenton. Riha is based at the company's research headquarters in White Plains, N.Y. He will also continue to report to Pietersen.
 The Seagram Company Ltd. is a leading global producer and marketer of distilled spirits, wines, fruit juices, coolers and mixers, and sells its brands in more than 150 countries. Subsidiaries and affiliates in 31 countries comprise the largest distribution system in the spirits and wine industry. Seagram manages its worldwide beverage operations through two major business units, the Seagram Spirits And Wine Group and the Seagram Beverage Group.
