JOINT VENTURE IN SAUDI ARABIA CHOOSES FINANCIAL AND MANUFACTURING SOFTWARE, FOURTH GENERATION LANGUAGE FROM ROSS SYSTEMS; LUBRICANT MANUFACTURER PARTNERS WITH SHELL OIL TO SERVE WESTERN PART OF COUNTRY

 REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Ross Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROSS) today announced the sale of its Renaissance CS(TM) Financial Series, Promix(TM) process manufacturing software, and GEMBASE(TM), the company's fourth generation language, to Saudi Arabian Markets and Shell Lubricants Co. Ltd. (Saslubco).
 The company, which is headquartered in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, manufactures and markets lubricants for automobiles and machinery. Saslubco serves the western half of the country.
 The total value of the contract is estimated at $317,500.
 Ross Systems develops and markets a broad range of business solutions in the following open systems environments: Digital's Alpha AXP architecture, Open VMS and OSF/1; and Hewlett-Packard's HP-UX and MPE/iX. Ross products encompass financial, human resource, and distribution systems, as well as manufacturing and public sector applications, complemented by a fourth generation application development language.
 The company serves its customers through a network of 38 offices worldwide. Corporate headquarters are located at 555 Twin Dolphin Drive, Redwood City, CA 94065.
