JOHNSON & JOHNSON ACQUIRES SAVLON OTC BRANDS FROM ICI
 NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Johnson & Johnson

(NYSE: JNJ) today announced it has acquired the rights in more than 70 countries to the Savlon OTC products line of London-based Imperial Chemical Industries (ADRs - NYSE: ICI). Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
The major brands in the line are Savlon liquid and Savlon cream antiseptic products used for first aid, diaper rash and skin disorders; and an antiseptic first aid spray.
The agreement enables Johnson & Johnson to market the Savlon line in most countries outside the European Economic Community, including the Far East, Africa and Latin America. In addition to the Savlon trademark, the sale includes production equipment in Taiwan and South Africa.
Johnson & Johnson believes the Savlon products are a valuable addition that will enhance the company's efforts to build and strengthen its over-the-counter business overseas, particularly in the Far East.
Johnson & Johnson, with over 82,000 employees, is the world's largest and most comprehensive manufacturer of health care products serving the consumer, pharmaceutical and professional markets.
