 JOHN MCDONALD TO STEP DOWN AS HEAD OF BP OIL;
 STEVEN PERCY TO LEAD U.S. DOWNSTREAM OIL BUSINESS
 CLEVELAND, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- BP has announced that John G. McDonald is stepping down as president of BP's refining and marketing business in the U.S. (BP Oil ), effective Sept. 1, to concentrate much of his time as chairman of the Greater Cleveland United Way Campaign and to pursue a future interest in higher education. He will continue as executive vice president of BP America until his retirement at the end of the year.
 Steven W. Percy, a 16-year veteran of BP and the former Standard Oil Company, has been named to succeed McDonald as president of BP Oil Company. The 46-year-old Percy, a native of Cleveland, is currently group treasurer of The British Petroleum Company p.l.c. and chief executive of BP Finance International in London. He has been on assignment in the United Kingdom since 1987.
 John McDonald joined Standard Oil in 1960 and has held various positions at the corporate level and in the chemicals and downstream oil businesses.
 Steven Percy joined Standard Oil in 1976. He has served in various management positions in the downstream oil business and was Director of the Executive Office at BP America before taking up his first assignment in London as Manager of Oil Planning and Control in BP Oil International.
