JOHN ALDEN LIFE, ALLIANCE MAKE ARRANGEMENT TO OFFER QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE

MIAMI, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- John Alden Life Insurance Company has been selected by the Employers Purchasing Alliance as a preferred insurer to provide a group health insurance product, in association with CAPP CARE's managed care services, for local coalitions and their members. This health care option will provide coalition-affiliated employer groups with 1-100 employees access to quality, affordable coverage at discounted premium rates.
CAPP CARE, a national managed care organization, will provide utilization management services and access to preferred provider (PPO) networks to these small and medium-sized employer groups. In addition, as members of the Employers Purchasing Alliance, these groups will have access to other benefits, including vision services, pharmacy plans, dental programs and preventative care programs.
This health care initiative between Employers Purchasing Alliance and its two preferred "partners," John Alden Life and CAPP CARE, supports reforms by local coalitions and their members to make health care more affordable and more accessible to all Americans. Additionally, the three organizations involved in this health care solution view this agreement as one of many methodologies currently available to help reduce the rising costs of health care.
"We want to be part of the solution to the health care crisis," said Glendon Johnson, chairman of the board and CEO of John Alden Life Insurance Company. "By joining with Employers Purchasing Alliance and working with CAPP CARE, we are able to offer quality, cost effective health care to both current and prospective employer members of coalitions affiliated with the Alliance."
John Alden Life, a national insurer that covers more than 150,000 small groups, offers a variety of other managed care options and cost containment plans. The Employers Purchasing Alliance represents more than 780,000 employees and 400 employers in 32 Florida counties, and uses its large group purchasing power from four affiliated Coalitions with managed care providers such as CAPP CARE. CAPP CARE is a California-based, national managed care organization covering more than 2 million lives in 35 states.
