``We need to understand what the market need is, not only for the businesses but the employees that we are trying to serve,'' said agency Director Barbara Fitzgerald.

Respondents In the context of marketing research, a representative sample drawn from a larger population of people from whom information is collected and used to develop or confirm marketing strategy.  would be asked about hiring and training needs, information on average wages and benefits, and education and licensing requirements.

``We want to know what are the jobs that will be needed to fill the market in the future,'' Fitzgerald said. ``Work force development is a part of the agency. Part of the training that we do with business is to gear them up for what the market will need.''
