JOB OPPORTUNITIES AT COLLEGE WORK FAIR.

LANCASTER - More than 30 employers are seeking qualified workers today at Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

 College's sixth annual job fair.

Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the student center at the college, 3041 W. Ave. K, the event is sponsored by the college's Job Placement Center, the California Employment Development Department and the Antelope Valley One-Stop Career Center.

People attending the fair are encouraged to bring resumes and to ``dress for success,'' said college public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  director Steve Standerfer.

Employers will be accepting resumes and applications, as well as conducting interviews, Standerfer said. Information will be available concerning various companies and job opportunities. Employers representing such fields as health care, transportation, law enforcement, retail, security and social service agencies will attend.

< PALMDALE - Children's Center of the Antelope Valley hosted a seminar April 19 for community professionals on the subject of infant growth.

The workshop, held at the Palmdale Cultural Center, addressed identification, assessment and treatment procedures regarding infants who fail to thrive and grow.

``Contributing factors to growth failure in an infant who is not otherwise ill can include environmental stresses on the family, minor medical problems . . . which make feeding more stressful or ineffective, and problems of attachment or in parent capacities which culminate culminate, in astronomy, the maximum height in the sky reached by a celestial body on a given day. PALMDALE - The Palmdale Chamber of Commerce still has openings in its June 13 golf tournament that will raise money to help handicapped children.

Proceeds will go to the Mobility Opportunities Via Education, a program that helps severely disabled children. Last year, the chamber donated more than $6,400 to MOVE from the tournament.

The goal this year is to raise enough money for a computerized ``universal'' wheelchair, which costs more than $3,000.

The tournament is open to the public. Fee is $150 a person.

The chamber also is seeking businesses and individuals to become sponsors or make donations. Items still needed include gift certificates, T-shirts, gift baskets A gift basket, or fruit basket is typically a gift that is delivered to the recipient at their home or workplace. There are different varieties of gift baskets, some which have fruit only, some with dry/canned goods only (such as tea, crackers and jam) although the standard  or any promotional items.
