JLL tapped to manage 1.3m s/f UN Plaza complex.


Jones Lang LaSalle Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) is a major real estate and money management services firm headquartered in the Aon Center in Chicago, Illinois and the only company in its industry making it into Fortune magazine's list of the 100 Best Places to Work in the U.S.  was chosen by United Nations Development Corp. to manage the mixed-use One, Two and Three United Nations Plaza buildings, totaling 1.3 million feet of office, residential and hotel space.

The Jones Lang LaSalle team overseeing the management assignment includes Kenneth Siegel, managing director, Lance Ruiz Carlile, senior vice president and regional manager, Ralph Pena, vice president and regional controller, and Nick Hayden, vice president and group manager, all with the company's New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 office.

The company will oversee the day-to-day base-building operations of the complex, implementing a planned series of capital improvements that include security system modifications, elevator upgrades and other infrastructure work.

"The Jones Lang LaSalle team has worked with the United Nations Development Corp. in the past," said Carlile.

"As a result, we are familiar with the tenancies at the three-building complex. In addition to our depth of experience in managing Class A office properties, we will be able to offer the UNDC UNDC United Nations Disarmament Committee (formerly Disarmament Conference)  our portfolio-wide cost-reduction programs that will allow the organization to reduce significantly its operating expenses."

One United Nations Plaza, a 39-story office tower, and Two United Nations Plaza, a 40-story office building, total more than 700,000 s/f of office space and include a privately owned hotel facility, the Millennium UN Plaza Millennium UN Plaza Hotel is a four-star hotel located next to the United Nations on the eastern edge of Midtown Manhattan. It has 40 floors and 427 guestrooms, and was built in 1976. References  Hotel New York.

Three United Nations Plaza is a 15-story office and residential building that serves as the headquarters of the United Nations Children's Fund United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), an affiliated agency of the United Nations. It was established in 1946 as the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. , UNICEF UNICEF (y`nĭsĕf'), the United Nations Children's Fund, an affiliated agency of the United Nations. , and apartments for U.N. and mission staff. The three-building complex is located between 43rd and 45th streets, and First and Second avenues.

UNDC is a state of New York public benefit corporation created in 1968 to assist the United Nations community with its office space and other real estate needs.
