JETHAWKS LET LEAD VANISH BUT COME THROUGH IN 12TH JETHAWKS 11, R. CUCAMONGA 10.

Byline: Gideon Rubin Staff Writer

LANCASTER - It might have been an unintentional-intentional walk, or perhaps JetHawks reliever Reuben Kerbs was just being careful Thursday night.

Either way, Kerbs wasn't about to give in to Angels prospect Dallas McPherson Dallas Lyle McPherson (born July 23, 1980 in Greensboro, North Carolina) is a professional baseball player, and third baseman for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Career  of Rancho Cucamonga, even with the bases loaded and his team leading by five runs in the top of the seventh inning.

The left-handed Kerbs, who walked three consecutive batters before facing the left-handed hitting McPherson, walked him on a 3-1 slider A block of material that holds the read/write head of a magnetic disk. See flying head.  that was low-and-away - the same pitch he got McPherson to swing at on a 3-0 count.

Considering how hot McPherson has been lately, batting .542 (26 for 48) with 11 homers (including one off Randy Johnson) in his past 17 games, that might not have been such a bad idea.

But it didn't work out for the JetHawks, who led by as many as seven runs, as the Quakes' Nick Gorneault hit a grand slam to left - his second of the series - on the first pitch he saw off reliever Billy Biggs to tie the game.

Eventually, the JetHawks prevailed 11-10 on an RBI RBI

single by Kyle Nichols in the 12th inning at Lancaster Municpal Stadium.

McPherson hit a two-run homer to right center in a three-run sixth and had an RBI double in the fourth.

The JetHawks scored first on Dan Uggla's solo homer to left center in the bottom of the first, his 21st, which at the time tied him with teammate Kyle Nichols for the California League lead. Two innings later, Nichols lined an opposite field two-run homer along the right line to regain the league's home run lead.

Mike DiRosa and Jaime Jones also homered for the JetHawks.

--Notes: Pitcher Justin Wechsler, who's on the disabled list with a shoulder injury, will miss his next scheduled start Monday. No replacement has yet been named.

--Matchup: Right-hander Scott Barber (9-6, 5.67 ERA) will pitch for the JetHawks when they play on the road against tonight Lake Elsinore tonight at 7.
