 JERRITTS TO LEAVE NBI
 BOULDER, Colo., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- NBI Inc. announced today


that Stephen G. Jerritts, president and chief executive officer, today submitted his resignation from NBI, effective 30 days from this date. Jerritts joined NBI in July 1988 and successfully led NBI through a Chapter 11 reorganization in which approximately $62 million in debt was retired for the issuance of common stock.
 NBI announced that Ronald P. Erickson, a current member of NBI's board, will assume the positions of chairman and interim chief executive officer of NBI. Erickson, 48, is co-founder of Microrim, a software development company in Seattle and has been involved as an entrepreneur in several other companies in computer and computer- related industries, including Egghead Software.
 Prior to coming to NBI, Jerritts had served as president and chief operating officer of Storage Technology Corp. where he also was integral to a successful reorganization. Jerritts stated, "I feel I have accomplished what was my goal when I joined NBI almost 4 years ago and it is time for me to pursue other business interests and turn NBI over to new senior management who will take it to its next level of success as a reorganized company."
 Erickson stated, "NBI and its new shareholders owe Steve Jerritts their thanks for his leadership through a very difficult period in its history. I am confident that NBI is now positioned to proceed to attempt to take advantage of the opportunities its strong cash position and balance sheet provide and to attempt to rebuild shareholder value."
 Based in Boulder, NBI has been a leader in the word processing industry for more than a decade. NBI designs and markets advanced work processing software, provides network systems integration, and services a wide base of system users in domestic and international locations.
