JEEP(R) SALESPEOPLE WARMING UP TO HIT GRAND SLAM WITH NEW GRAND CHEROKEE
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Spring training isn't just for major league baseball players anymore ... the Jeep(R) division of Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C) is putting its dealers through intense training to help them hit a home run with the new Jeep Grand Cherokee.
"The Grand Cherokee sets a new standard for sport utility vehicles," said L.W. Baker, general manager of the Jeep/Eagle division. "The spring training program is designed to ensure our salespersons will know the vehicle inside and out and help them be a valuable resource to our customers."
Covering 25 major cities coast to coast, the training session will include classroom instruction and hands-on training to educate more than 7,000 salespeople on performance, technology, safety and product features of the Grand Cherokee. Participants will drive the Grand Cherokee in head-to-head tests against competitive makes to underscore the advantages of the new Jeep. Detailed information will be given on technical aspects of the vehicle, including Grand Cherokee's driver's side air bag and the technology that enabled an off-road vehicle to be equipped with this feature. Grand Cherokee is the first sport utility vehicle to offer a standard driver's side air bag.
A few of the other components examined during the session include Grand Cherokee's standard four-wheel-drive, anti-lock braking system, an all-new Quadra-Trac full-time, four-wheel-drive system, and the new Quadra-Coil suspension.
Salespeople will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the new Grand Cherokee to experience the vehicle both on- and off-road before it is introduced to the public on April 19.
Information will be presented to dealers using a unique "spring training" baseball theme. Individuals will participate in team competition and prizes will be awarded.
