JDA signs eight new clients worldwide.

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 11, 1997--JDA Software Group Inc. (NASDAQ:JDAS) recently signed eight new clients that increase the company's presence in the United States, Europe, South America, Asia, and Middle East.

From the UK-based jeweler of the royal family to a Saudi Arabian retailer, JDA's eight new clients' merchandise lines are as diverse as their geographic locations.

Sodimac, a retail and wholesale chain that specializes in the home improvement and construction supplies segment throughout Colombia and Chile, licensed JDA's in-store system for Windows(TM), Win/DSS, and ODBMS(TM), a client/server corporate headquarters system.

Commenting on how Sodimac will use the systems to manage the expansion of their business operations in Latin America, Manuel Gonzalez Marro, systems manager, stated, "In order to continue as the market leader, Sodimac has chosen JDA Software to be our regional information systems provider to better serve our individual customers and business accounts."

New JDA client Spain's Inc., a Philadelphia-based company that owns and operates 63 Dollar Express stores purchased JDA's Merchandise Management System(TM)(MMS(TM)), including Advanced Warehouse, because of significant growth projections and limitations of their existing distribution facility.

Commented Peter Spain, vice president of operations at Spain's, "We're opening stores at a rate of 13 to 15 per year and our current UNIX-based system is reaching its limits. What really sold us was the Advanced Warehouse component option of JDA's MMS.

Worldwide Retailers Select JDA Products

JDA's new clients had a number of objectives for purchasing MMS and ODBMS including inventory control, sales tracking, and price management. Several clients also licensed JDA's DOS-based Distributed Store System(TM) (DSS(TM)) to address such issues as improving control of store operations and enhancing service with better access to customer profile information.

-- Arnold Palmer Golf Management Co., which operates golf pro shops throughout the United States, has licensed JDA's MMS Sales Audit component.

-- Asprey plc, the London-based jewellery and luxury goods retail group, has recently licensed JDA's MMS. The group includes Asprey itself, with stores in London and New York; Garrard, the Crown Jewellers; the UK high street chains Watches of Switzerland and Mappin & Webb; and Les Ambassadeurs of Switzerland.

-- Organized Living, a Lenexa, Kan.-based retailer specializing in home furnishings, organization products and services for the home, has licensed DSS.

-- Rugged Bear, a New England-based specialty retail chain for children's outdoor clothing, sportswear, accessories, and camping equipment, licensed MMS and DSS. The retailer operates 23 children's apparel stores throughout New England, New Jersey, and New York.

-- Yogya is an Indonesia-based department store and supermarket chain that owns and operates 16 stores and plans to expand to over 50 by the year 2000. To respond to its anticipated growth, the company licensed MMS and DSS.
