JDA Software Announces Third Quarter 2003 Customer Activity; The Kroger Co., Hewlett Packard and Tractor Supply Among New Deals.

(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq:JDAS) announced many of the companies that signed JDA Portfolio(R) contracts in third quarter 2003. Several grocery retailers and distributors including The Kroger Co., Giant Eagle Inc., Netto AS and Shamrock Foods Co. signed license agreements in third quarter. JDA also finalized U.S. contracts with such multibillion-dollar companies as Hewlett-Packard Co., Henry Schein Henry Schein Inc. is a Fortune 500 company based in Melville, New York. It is a distributor of healthcare products and services primarily to office-based healthcare practitioners in the North American and European markets. The Company operates in two business segments.  Inc., Belk Inc. and Tractor Supply Co., while international deals included Farmacias Ahumada in Chile, Mountain Equipment Co-op Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) is a Canadian consumers' cooperative, which sells outdoor gear and clothing and has over 2.5 million members[1]. MEC is notable for its commitment to environmental protection and other causes.  in Canada, JUN Co. Ltd. in Japan and Mothercare Plc in the United Kingdom.

We also saw significant increases for our Arthur branded planning products.

Demand Increases for Advanced Replenishment by E3

The $1.2 billion Tractor Supply Co. signed a significant agreement for the Portfolio Advanced Replenishment by E3 solution suite. The United States' largest retail farm and ranch store chain with more than 462 retail stores in 30 states also licensed the Portfolio Space Management by Intactix(TM) products as well as the advanced business intelligence solution, Seasonal Profiling by Intellect(TM).

JDA added new international customers seeking to optimize in-stock and service levels on a reduced inventory investment including Denmark's Nilfisk-Advance, a leading supplier of cleaning equipment, and France's Aubert, a European leader in childcare retailing, both signing for Advanced Warehouse Replenishment(R), while Nordic home electronics retailer SIBA AB SIBA AB (sometimes Siba or siba without capitalization) is a large Swedish chain of home electronics retail stores. Siba is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden and as of 2006 there are 58 stores in Sweden, Denmark and Norway.  signed for Advanced Store Replenishment.

JDA signed current customer Family Christian Stores for its first implementation of Portfolio POS(TM), JDA's new Java-based store system. The leading U.S. specialty retailer with more than 325 locations in 39 states also licensed Customer Relationship Management by Affinity(TM) and JDA Store Portal(TM).

JDA welcomed new customer Giant Eagle Inc., a Pittsburgh, Pa.-based food retailer with about 130 corporate and 83 franchised supermarkets. Giant Eagle signed for the award-winning VistaRetail(TM) software that allows retailers to receive and respond to product and promotion information from suppliers based on subscriptions managed in the application.

Existing Customers Return for More Value from JDA

Several JDA customers licensed additional Portfolio applications or expanded their existing license agreement to drive more value from their JDA investment. Sporting and outdoor goods retailer Galyan's Trading Co. Inc. expanded several licenses including products within these suites: Portfolio Merchandising, Business Intelligence, Advanced Planning and Replenishment and Space Management.

The $2.3 billion Mandalay Resort Group Mandalay Resort Group was a hotel-casino operator based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Its major properties included Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur and Circus Circus, as well as half of the Monte Carlo.  expanded its MMS license and also licensed Performance Analysis by IDEAS. The $1 billion Shamrock Foods Co., the fourth-largest independent food service distributor in the United States, expanded its existing Advanced Warehouse Replenishment license.

Several other companies signed for one or more Portfolio products, or expanded their license agreements with JDA in third quarter 2003. Due to the competitive advantages of implementing JDA's Portfolio solutions, these companies have requested confidentiality.
