JDA Software Announces Second Quarter 2004 Customer Activity; JDA Maintains Strong Competitive Position with 83 New License Signings.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- JDA(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq:JDAS) announced a sampling of the companies that signed JDA Portfolio(R) contracts in second quarter 2004. A number of existing JDA clients such as Belk Inc., BJ's Wholesale Club, Chanel Inc., Do It Best Corp., L'Oreal USA Inc., Retail Brand Alliance and 7-Eleven Inc. signed for additional JDA Portfolio applications. Additionally, JDA welcomed a host of new clients including such companies as Kenneth Cole Productions Inc., Buehler Food Markets Inc., dELiA*s Corp. and Owens Corning.

JDA Continues to Expand in Grocery and Convenience Markets

Several companies will tap into the vast potential that JDA's recently acquired Portfolio Workforce Management(TM) (PWM(TM)) applications offer for better managing labor. Among the grocery and convenience companies is existing customer, 7-Eleven, the industry's largest convenience retailing chain, and new client, Ohio-based Buehler Food Markets. Additionally, Minnesota-based Knowlan's Super Markets Inc. upgraded to the current version of PWM.

Existing client Belk, the largest privately owned U.S. department store company, and new client Carriage Services Inc., a publicly traded funeral and cemetery service company, also selected PWM.

Prestige fashion, fragrance and beauty company Chanel signed for Portfolio CRM(TM), which helps companies to better manage customer relationships and loyalty programs. Chanel also upgraded its existing JDA in-store system license to Win/DSS(R).

Retail Brand Alliance, Kenneth Cole Select Strategic Merchandise Management Solutions

Existing client Retail Brand Alliance, operator of Casual Corner, Petite Sophisticate, Brooks Brothers and other high-profile brands, licensed Advanced Warehouse Replenishment by E3(R), Seasonal Profiling by Intellect(TM), Performance Analysis by IDEAS(TM) for AWR and Customer Order Management-I(TM).

Apparel and accessory company Kenneth Cole Productions signed for Merchandise Planning by Arthur(TM), Performance Analysis by Arthur(TM), Assortment Planning by Arthur(TM), RAPID Packages by Arthur(TM) and Arthur Knowledge Base(TM) (AKB). dELiA*s, a multi-channel apparel, accessories and home furnishings retailer, also licensed Arthur Planning(TM).

Several international companies licensed Portfolio Strategic Merchandise Management applications. Aubert France S.A., a retailer of children's clothing, nursery equipment and toys, Martins Comercio e Servicos, a leading food, electronics and hardware wholesaler in Brazil, Mercatone Uno Service, a furniture and appliance retailer, Sermes S.A., an electrical equipment wholesaler, and Pueblo International LLC, the leading supermarket chain in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, licensed Warehouse Replenishment(TM). Pueblo International and Mercatone Uno Service also signed for Advanced Store Replenishment by E3(R).

Goldsmiths, the United Kingdom's leading jewelry retailer, licensed Arthur Planning and JC Holding AB, a Sweden-based apparel retailer, licensed Arthur Planning and AKB.

Global Manufacturers Select JDA's Proven Portfolio Collaborative Solutions

Leading companies such as Bayer HealthCare LLC, Del Laboratories Inc., Do It Best Corp., Dap Inc., Easy Heat Inc., Energizer Holdings Inc., L'Oreal USA Inc., Owens Corning and Westinghouse Lighting Corp. signed for Portfolio Collaborative Solutions(TM). As a result of second quarter 2004 license activity, 230 trading partners now rely on JDA solutions to support over $3 billion in trade volume, up from over 160 trading pairs in second quarter 2003.

Merchandise Management Systems Show a Strong Resurgence

Existing JDA client Right-on Co. Ltd., a rapidly expanding jeans and casual wear specialty retailer with 240 stores across Japan, licensed Portfolio Merchandise Management(TM) corporate headquarters software and Portfolio Registry(TM), the first commercial Microsoft .NET application that manages all master data and product information used throughout Portfolio applications. Other retailers that selected Portfolio Merchandise Management System-i(TM) (MMS(R)) include Indigo Nation, a new-generation clothing company, Al Othaim Commercial Co., a Saudi Arabia-based retailer, and Ollie's Bargain Outlet, a closeout, surplus and salvage retailer. Ollie's also signed for Performance Analysis by IDEAS(TM) and Win/DSS in-store system, and Al Othaim Commercial Co. licensed IDEAS(TM).

BJ's Wholesale Signs for Portfolio Space Management Applications

Companies making first-time investments in JDA's space management solutions include BJ's Wholesale Club, a leading wholesale club chain, and Micro Center, a retailer of computers and related products. Other new space management licenses were signed with MGA Entertainment, Alberto-Culver Co., InGear Sports Corp., Gillette South Africa and Hasbro Australia.

A number of existing JDA clients expanded their space management investment. In the Americas these companies include Musicland Group Inc., General Mills Canada, Dr Pepper/Seven Up Inc., L'Oreal USA Inc., Sprint PCS, Fruit of the Loom Inc., H.J. Heinz, Hormel Foods, The Forzani Group, Ltd., Leiner Health Products, Bimbo Bakeries and Planogramming Solutions Inc. Other international deals include European companies Frontline PLC, Praxis BV and World Duty Free, Ltd., as well as Hong Kong-based Shanghai Lotus Supermarkets and Australia's National Pharmacies and Coles Supermarkets.

Existing Customers Return to JDA to Achieve More Value

JDA's strategy of delivering superior value to its customers in order to reinforce cross-selling opportunities continues to develop, with 66 percent of license revenues in second quarter coming from existing JDA customers. A sampling of these companies in the Americas includes: Coach Inc., D&S, S.A., G.W. Berkheimer Co., The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc., Gustave A. Larson Co., Hot Topic, Interamerican Motor Corp., Mountain Equipment Co-op and United Retail Group.

In Europe clients include: Adams Childrenswear Limited, Conforama Management Services, The Co-operative Group Ltd., GS S.p.A., Hoogvliet B.V., Moeller Electric AS, Office Depot International B.V. and Office Depot Inc. In Asia Pacific Vicsal Development Corp. (Metro Gaisano) expanded its JDA agreement.
