JCCOM's New 36X Multi-read, Multi-tasking CD-ROM Features Velocity Control Logic to Reduce Access Time.


TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 1998--Japan Computer & Communications Inc. (JCCOM) Friday introduced a multi-read, multi-tasking 36X CD-ROM drive that employs a velocity control logic feature to reduce access time and increase the lifespan of the motor mechanism.

In addition, the new drive supports all the latest CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

With just a slight push, the tray closes automatically, and for greater ease of use, its front panel offers a two-button design that can be used to instantly access playback functions.

Other JCD-36X features include DMA support, a self-calibrating digital servo control, CD-ROM bootability and Video CD compatible/MPEG with full motion video playback. The system offers dynamic audio playback enhanced through 1-bit DAC See D/A converter and discretionary access control.
